April Lockhart
April Lockhart was born on July 4, 1995. In seventh grade she began playing the guitar as well as taking piano classes, which ignited her passion for writing songs. April Lockhart penned her first single"Different" when she was 12 years old. She spent a lot of time at 14 making songs and practicing the piano. Soon after she began taking trips to write with her father, who lived in NY and LA. April included other subjects in her track"Take my Hand. These topics were meant for the friends of hers who struggled with issues such as peer pressure disabilities or even teen suicidal thinking. Lockhart collaborates with the well-known Clean Beauty brand Ilia and is also a lifestyle influencer with a huge following of her own. Her birth was without a left hand. It's an aspect of her identity, but that's not the entire story. Lockhart's profile on Twitter doesn't ignore her being disabled however, it doesn't focus on it. What's the message? It's crucial to understand that each of us has many faces, our identities are diverse and we are much beyond our body. I do not want this to determine me. I do not intend to become an influencer where it's the only thing I discuss because there are other things about me. Lockhart says via video from her house in Nashville. My everyday life isn't affected by it. I live my normal day-to-day life and discover myself solutions for problems. However, it's a component of me and I feel it's essential to discuss. Lockhart inspires us to keep striving to be self-accepting. She admits that she has gone through phases of insecurity with her physique and being uneasy wearing certain clothing styles which showed her arms. She can wear whatever she wants, and she happily shares pictures of her wearing these clothes. What makes self-love so appealing to her is that it's not a goal. However, that is typical for people with doubts. It's essential to have those that know and understand the way you feel. They will be the ones to ask you: What do you think about?
