Amy Lou Adams Amy Lou Adams (born on August 20th 1974 in Aviano, Italy). American actress. Famous for her naive and charming characters. Adams was among seven siblings that grew up as a child in Castle Rock, Colorado. She was born while her father worked for the U.S. Military in Italy. In the mid-1990s she began acting and dancing professionally in Colorado's Dinner Theatre and the Country Dinner Playhouse in Colorado. Then she moved to a regional theatre in Minnesota where she was cast in a documentary mock-up on beauty contests called Drop Dead Gorgeous (1999). She moved to Los Angeles after making her debut as an innocent, but funny contestant. Her husband was the actor Tony Curtis from June 1951 until September 1962, and was the mother of Kelly Curtis and Jamie Lee Curtis. She was discovered by the actress Norma Shearer Leigh secured a deal with MGM and started her film career in the 1940s. Through the years that followed she was in a variety of well-known films like Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho (1960) as well as Living It Up by Martin and Lewis (a 1954 film).
